Area Attractions and Activities

Acadia National Park – Arbor Camp is only 20 miles (about a 30 minute drive) to the national park. It goes without saying that there are hundreds of attractions in and around the national park. Take a drive along the park loop road, go for a walk on the Ocean Path, stop by Sand Beach or Echo Lake for a dip!

Here are several guides to the park that we found useful:

Ellsworth Area – Arbor Camp is just two miles from the charming downtown of Ellsworth (population around 8,500). Ellsworth offers a wide variety of amenities and attractions from good restaurants, to quaint shops, to its own outdoor attractions.  The Visit Maine – Ellsworth page is a good guide.

Down East Area – Ellsworth is a gateway to the Down East area, which offers authentic Maine experiences of every variety. The Down East Guide provides a useful summary of the attractions.
